Pinehurst Hat -- a loom knit pattern

The Pinehurst Hat is a richly textured unisex beanie. This hat has a unique crown which can only be created using the Flexee Loom Links Skinny loom. My special double decreasing crown technique is most suited to an intermediate loom knitter. This design makes a really cute "+" on the top of the hat and the crown doesn't "swirl" like so many decreasing crown designs do.

The pattern also includes a bonus alternate ending to create a stocking hat-type winter hat from this same gorgeous pattern. This alternate bind off is easier than the double decreasing crown technique and would be more suited to a confident novice loom knitter.

The Pinehurst uses approximately 190 yards of a [4] medium weight yarn. Perfection by Kraemer Yarns, 30% Merino wool/70% Acrylic, in the Alligator colorway was used in the sample.

Because of the short row construction, the pattern is suitable for an intermediate loom knitter.
