Old Time Winter Hat -- a loom knit pattern

The Old Time Winter Hat looks like something your great-grandparents would have worn to stay toasty warm! This hat incorporates all kinds of features that make for a super interesting pattern to follow! If you look closely, the brim has an i-cord edging to frame your face. The brim itself is knit as a flat panel and then the edge is put back on the circular loom to finish the hat in the round. This technique is known as modular knitting and is completely explained in the pattern with pictures. The crown of the hat is made with my double-decreasing crown technique which creates a nice head-hugging crown.

The Old Time Winter Hat's unique crown can only be created using the Flexee Loom Links Chunky loom and uses approximately 120 yards of a #5 bulky yarn. Lion Brand's Hue & Me yarn in the Arrowwood colorway was used in the sample.

This pattern is suitable for an intermediate loom knitter.
