I love trying to create new stitches for the loom. My attempts and failures led me to the discovery of this stitch that I call the Lattice Stitch. If you can e-wrap, flat knit, and purl, you can create my lattice stitch.

For a preview of how easy the Lattice Stitch is to master, go watch my YouTube video that demonstrates the technique used to create this beautiful and easy stitch: https://youtu.be/zGhy7y_vSR8

This hat is knit in the round on the yellow 41 peg knifty knitter round loom. It takes about 180 yards of a bulky 5 yarn.

The pattern is suitable for an advanced beginner and includes a picture tutorial of how to do the trickiest part of the stitch pattern.

If you look closely, you can see the twists of the “ladders” of the yarn. I think it looks quite different from any other type of lattice stitch out there.

If you prefer a more lacy and lighter hat, you could knit this hat using one strand of a bulky yarn instead of the two strands as called for in the pattern. The blue and green hat was knit with one strand.

This pattern is ready for download now as a PDF file.
